All set for your next trip to Barcelona? There is nothing better than travelling with your car, and even more knowing that, with Parclick, you will save money and invest in comfort by reserving your parking space in advance.
As at Parclick we leave everything at your disposal to make your trip a unique experience, we would like to inform you of an important detail that you should bear in mind if you come to Spain with your foreign car: since 2020, there is a Zona de Bajas Emisiones (Low Emission Zone) within the municipality of Barcelona where certain vehicles have restricted access and circulation during a set timetable (Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 20:00).
So how do you apply these regulations to your vehicle registered abroad? Quite simply! Before your trip, you should check that your vehicle complies with the environmental standards recognised by the Spanish authorities. Generally speaking, the vehicles considered to be the most polluting and therefore not eligible for the ZBE are petrol cars registered from 2000 and diesel cars manufactured from 2006 onwards. However, so that you can be completely sure, you can submit your car's registration form at the following link that Barcelona City Council has made available free of charge and online so that you can do this check: Register of authorisations.
If your vehicle ultimately does not meet the recognised conditions, do not give up on your trip just yet! From the link above, you can request special authorisation for up to 24 days per year.
And that's it! You can now access the Barcelona ZBE without fear of penalties.
If you want more information about this Zona de Bajas Emisiones, you can consult this page: Where to park in Low Emissions Zone (ZBE)
