Have you decided to visit Madrid with your car but you are worried about the traffic restrictions in some areas of the city? Fear not! Thanks to Parclick, you can come with your vehicle with total peace of mind. Below, we are going to tell you everything you need to know so that you can enjoy your trip to the capital and what you should do to avoid being fined for entering the Distrito Centro.
As you may already know, for some years now, there has been a restricted traffic zone within the so-called Madrid Distrito Centro (formerly known as Madrid Central) to which some vehicles are restricted from accessing and circulating. In general terms, this zone comprises the area known as the "almendra" of the centre of Madrid. Here is a map so that you can visualise it better:
We could talk for hours and hours about all the details of the regulations, but you only need to know two things to enjoy one of our car parks located within the Zona de Bajas Emisiones of the Distrito Centro:
- Your vehicle must have an environmental badge (B, C ECO or ZERO).
- You must have previously made a Parclick reservation.
And that's all! If you meet these two simple conditions, you'll be able to park in our car parks in the Downtown District without fear. Wasn't that a big deal after all? For our part, we recommend that, on the day of your arrival, when you present your Parclick booking voucher, you tell the car park operators to proceed with the paperwork with the city council.
Please note that if you are going to book a car park with a vehicle with a B or C badge, your circulation in the Distrito Centro of Madrid will be restricted to entering and leaving the car park.
Vehicles without a badge, i.e. category A vehicles (diesel vehicles registered before 2006 and petrol vehicles registered before 2000), are not allowed to enter or circulate within this area of Madrid without exception. In addition to this, and following the latest regulation approved by the Madrid City Council in September 2021 and in force from 1 January 2022, access and circulation are also restricted to these vehicles that are not residents of the Central District throughout the interior of the M30.
Don't you know the environmental classification that corresponds to your vehicle? In the following link, you can consult the environmental category to which your vehicle belongs and the procedure to follow to acquire the badge, either in a physical location or online: Environmental badge.
