Are you coming to discover the Spanish capital by car? If so, you'll need to know that there are some areas of the city where traffic restrictions apply to certain vehicles, so don't panic! For some years now, there have been a couple of low emission zones within the municipality of Madrid known as the ZBE of the Distrito Centro (previously called Madrid Central) and the ZBE of Plaza Elíptica, which some vehicles cannot access or circulate at any time of the day. There are some exceptions, and if you have a Parclick reservation and your vehicle has one of the environmental badges issued by the DGT, you will be able to access any of our car parks located in this area without repercussions.
But what about foreign vehicles? If you come to Madrid with a foreign-registered vehicle and you want to access one of our car parks located within Madrid's low-emission zones, we confirm that you can access it without fear of penalties as long as your vehicle complies with the environmental characteristics in accordance with the DGT's General Vehicle Regulations. In other words: to access a Parclick car park in car parks within the Central District or Plaza Elíptica with your foreign car, your vehicle must belong to the category of vehicles with a badge (B, C, ECO or Zero Emissions).
To confirm that your vehicle falls into the category established by the authorities, you must go to the Specialised Citizen Service Office of the ZBEDEP Distrito Centro (located at Calle Bustamante, 6, by appointment) and bring the vehicle's technical data sheet and the vehicle registration certificate. Once you have the corresponding environmental category equivalence, you will be able to access this zone in accordance with the regulations.
